Oct 2010 - Daniela Joffe -Volunteer from USA
"...I already received the most incredible "thank you" from IRFSA on my last day at the shelter, in the form of a gift package and a beautiful card which I still have with me. What a special organisation IRFSA is; I will never forget my time spent there, and I will definitely come visit next time I am in Cape Town! As I told Tasneem and Ruweida, I will be back for the December and January holidays, and I will give you a call to set something up. Wishing you all the very best, Daniela Joffe."
MSA of Sans Souci Girls' High School
"Sans Souci Girls' High School's motto is "Learn to be of service" and the MSA embodies this motto. We always aim to have fun at the same time, because there is no lasting happiness in having or in getting, but in giving, reaching out and sharing."
Sep 2010
Our main event for the year was an Iftaar held in our school hall during the Holy month of Ramadaan. The event was held in honour of the (all) women and children of the Ihata Shelter. We aimed to give a message of hope, care and love which was befitting of the spirit of Ramadaan. Our MSA invited the MSA of Rustenberg Girls and Westerford who also contributed gifts, toys and non-perishable food items that were presented to the shelter at the end of the evening. The women, children and staff of the shelter were really appreciative of our gesture.
Oct 2010

"Shukran for allowing us the opportunity to entertain the children. It was a wonderful afternoon and everyone had lotsof fun. The childrenwere very well behaved and some were shy and enjoyed themselves quietly while others were enthusiastic. The activities included painting, colouring in, and painting, playing with play dough, face-painting and beading. Painting proved to be the most popular activity. Some children didn't want to stop when it was time to pack up. We took photos throughout the afternoon and a group photo at the end, before we had snacks." MSA Chairperson Wasfeeya Altalib
Sept 2010 - Muhammadeyah Cycling Club
"We would like to thank you for your gracious attendance at our Annual Boeka Evening. The spirit of Ramadaan brought about the serenity of giving and sharing, not only in gifts and food but also in companionship. This spirit prevailed throughout the proceedings. Your presence contributed greatly to the success of the evening and we are forever grateful to your members for accepting our invitation. We wish your members and the organisation well, for the future that lies ahead. Thanking you and may Allah bless abundantly, Insha-Allah. Samieyah Isaacs (Fundcom)"
Aug 2010 - Circle of Friends
"We are a group of friends, who in 2006 started an organization called Circle Of Friends, who does various charity work throughout the year. We try to assist as many people / groups / organizations that we can with our limited resources. Last year we hosted an Easter Book run at St Joseph's Home for convalescent kids where we handed out easter eggs and books to all the kids. We also hosted karaoke and tea parties at Oakhaven Old Age Home as well as Noah's Old Age home where we entertain the age with karaoke and cakes and tea as well as toiletry gift bags. We had various soup kitchens and every year November we host a Christmas party for the orphans of Cape Town. Last year we took the kids from SA Children's Home and Nazareth House to Sunlands Primary school in Wetton where we had a pool party and we supplied them with KFC as well as Father Christmas who handed out party packets and gifts. Fun was had by everyone."

And yes, so you fell perfectly in our plans for Women's Day, we had such an amazing time!! The place is so well taken care of and the ladies were all just awesome. It was an absolute pleasure for us to treat the ladies of your shelter to some relaxation and also make them forget about their problems if only for the few hours we were there. Thank you so much for allowing us to spend some time with your ladies, it actually also made all of us realize that we are so fortunate in our lives for the loving partners, family and friends we have who are always there when we need them.? All the best for your shelter and hopefully soon we will cross paths again. Melanie Scheepers, Ansaaf ismail & Zaino Benjamin."

To everyone who assists in improving the lives of underprivileged abused women and children!
